F.I.R.S.T. Regional Conference - April 7

Houston, Texas

(February 18, 2001) - The Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types (F.I.R.S.T.) is pleased to sponsor a one-day mini-conference in the Houston area on Saturday, April 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

F.I.R.S.T. is dedicated to providing information, education, advocacy and support to individuals and families affected by ichthyosis. This event is intended to help meet those needs at the local level and is F.I.R.S.T.’s response to members’ requests.

This conference will provide you with the latest information about ichthyosis, including current research, services available to you through F.I.R.S.T., the national registry and other sources and give you an opportunity to share your successes and struggles with others affected by this family of rare diseases.

The program will include a morning session about treatment, research and genetics, as well as a question-answer period. Dr. Moise Levy, Chief of Pediatric Dermatology at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston and Professor at Baylor College of Medicine will be speaking to our group. Moderated discussion groups will convene in the afternoon after a picnic lunch in the park (weather permitting).

Hope you can come join us for a day of facts, fun and fellowship right in your neighborhood! If you would like additional information about the mini-conference, please contact the office click here or email Donna Rice, President click here. Hope to see you in April.

Registration fees of $10 per person (children under 3 are free)include conference materials, children's activities and lunch. Conference attendees may also attend a 5:30 p.m. dinner and social time together at a local restaurant. This is optional and not included in the registration fees.
