About Ichthyosis
Netherton Syndrome (Ichthyosis Linearis Circumflexa)

Netherton syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive skin disease characterized by scaling of the skin in a distinctive circular pattern. Symptoms affecting the hair include hair shaft anomalies due to a defect in keratinization of the internal root sheath. Another characteristic of Netherton’s Syndrome is predisposition to allergies such as asthma, or food allergies. Itching may be present in different degrees of severity, ranging from mild to severe.
