The Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types is launching year four of its research grant program to encourage and support investigation into the causes, treatments, and potential cures for ichthyosis.

Ichthyosis Research Grants Investigations leading to improved understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of ichthyosis and to novel approaches to the management and treatment of the ichthyoses will be considered. Ichthyosis Research Grants provide funding for promising ideas for which there is not yet enough preliminary data that justifies a higher level or longer period of funding. Epidermolytic Hyperkeratosis Research Grants Detailed investigations into Epidermolytic Hyperkeratosis will be considered. High priority will be given to proposals that focus on the translation of known genetic information and established pathogenic pathways into curative therapies or new therapies with significant impact for EHK. Epidermolytic Hyperkeratosis Research Grants are renewable for up to a total of three years, depending on progress and availability of funds. Grants may be funded up to $75,000 per year.

Help with downloading files

MS Word Files

Microsoft provides free software that allows viewing MS Word (download MS Word Viewer) files without owning the full version of the software.

Adobe Acrobat or PDF Forms/Files

Before attempting to read these files, you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed (download Acrobat Reader). The free Adobe Acrobat reader will allow you to view and print PDF files. Adobe also offers other Online Conversion Tools for Adobe PDF Documents including web-based and e-mail submissions.

The PDF forms on this web site are "Fillable". Note that there are limitations on the functionality of these forms depending on the product you are using, as follows:
  • If you have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software you can fill the forms out and print them, you cannot save them. You must re-fill the pdf form everytime you open it. The Adobe Acrobat Reader software functions this way by design, it is supposed to allow users to view PDF files, it is not designed to edit them.
